Bayern Munich shattered the Bundesliga transfer record on Wednesday when they agreed a deal for Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez.
The World Cup winner will join Bayern at the end of the season for a massive €80million almost double the previous incoming record when the Bavarian giants signed Corentin Tolisso two years ago.
Bayern have typically spent the biggest fees in Germany, but the Bundesliga lagged behind Europe s other top leagues in this regard.
We take a look at the largest deals in the league s history after Lucas shook things up.

The Mail Online understand that Mario Balotelli could be set for a return to the Premier League this summer.
The twenty-seven year old is available on a free transfer with his contract with Nice set to expire and the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli in his home country are also interested.
He has previously turned out for Manchester City and Liverpool in England, winning the Premier League title with the former famously providing the assist for Sergio Aguero in a goal that clinched the championship in the final moments of the 2011/12 campaign.
He moved to Nice in the summer of 2016 and has since racked up sixty appearances in all competitions, scoring thirty-nine goals.
He hasn’t featured internationally since the 2014 World Cup finals, wi…
German international turned professional wrestler Tim Wiese has claimed he is fitter now than when he played regularly in the Bundesliga.
The ex-Kaiserslautern, Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim goalkeeper retired in 2014 and has since pursued a career in professional wrestling.
He also won six caps for Germany between 2008 and 2012.
He is due to make his in-ring WWE debut in Munich on November 3rd after being invited to join a training camp earlier this year.
Wiese says he trains for up to four hours a day to maintain his physique.
As a goalkeeper, you only have to walk around a bit in the workout, Wiese told Bild.
But the weight is much bigger in wrestling, moving 120 kilos is more strenuous than 90.
He already sounds at home…
Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan believes the cautiousness of coaches is to blame for the Bundesliga s lack of title tension.
Gundogan, who is nearing the end of his second season in the Premier League, was part of the Borussia Dortmund team that were crowned German champions in 2011-12 under Jurgen Klopp.
Bayern Munich have since reasserted their dominance by winning six straight titles for the first time in the club s history, the latest secured with five games to spare.
Thomas Muller described the disparity at the top as regrettable and his concern is matched by Germany team-mate Gundogan, who says teams are too quick to resort to the safety of long balls.
What I miss a bit but I m perhaps spoiled with Pep Guardiola is that teams in the game …

It is a welcome return to the international fold for the 28-year-old Arsenal forward, who resumed club action last month after suffering an ACL injury last November.

Zinedine Zidane has teased he will return to coaching soon , amid continued speculation he will be the successor for Didier Deschamps in the national side.
The three-time Champions League winning manager has been away from the dugout since leaving Real Madrid in 2021 but has been linked with a wealth of top jobs across Europe.
Posts with the likes of Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have been touted, though taking the reins of Les Bleus following the World Cup in Qatar continues to be the favoured position.
Zidane has now likely sent the gossip columns spinning, revealing that he plans to return in the near future.
Do I miss the coaching suit? No, I m not far away. We re waiting, we re waiting a little bit. Soon, soon, he told RMC Sport.

After being linked with several big-name Premier League clubs, highly-rated teenager Oliver Burke has signed with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.
Burke was the subject of plenty of interest around the Premier League, but Leipzig managed to fend off the competition to land the 19-year-old.
While the official transfer fee between Nottingham Forest and Leipzig is undisclosed, it is reported to be close to the £13million mark.
Burke joins the newly-promoted club on a five-year deal that will keep him at the Red Bull Arena until 2021.
When I found out that Forest had agreed a deal to sell me it was a surprise, but I understand that the transfer fee received should help stabilise the club and allow Forest to sign at least two or three quality players …
Gerard Pique has taken aim at Real Madrid following Barcelona s decision not to hold an open-top bus parade to celebrate their Copa del Rey triumph.
The Catalans beat Deportivo Alaves 3-1 on May 27 to secure a third triumph in the competition in as many seasons and give departing coach Luis Enrique a victorious send-off.
However, the club declined to hold a celebratory parade amid a lingering sense of disappointment surrounding the 2016-17 campaign.
They lost the Liga crown to Real Madrid and watched their bitter rivals from the capital become the first team to win back-to-back Champions League titles since the tournament s rebranding in 1992, with Zinedine Zidane s side beating Juventus 4-1 in the final.
Comparisons have been drawn between Zidane s Madri…
Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund s keenly anticipated Champions League quarter-final could hinge on the battle between Erling Haaland and Ruben Dias.
That is the view of former City favourite Shaun Wright-Phillips, who anticipates an intriguing contest due to the attacking firepower boasted by both sides.
Norway youngster Haaland has rattled home a remarkable 33 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions this season, averaging a goal every 82.8 minutes thanks to a shot conversion rate of 31.4 per cent.
The 20-year-old has also supplied seven assists, although he will be faced with one of Europe s most formidable centre-backs in Dias.
If speculation proves accurate, Haaland might replace the Portugal defender as City s record signing at the end …

Scotland
Starting with the hosts, last seen back in March when playing out back-to-back stalemates against Austria and Poland, there is no doubt that the mood in Scotland s camp should be at a real high. Gaining a host of plaudits from across Europe since appointing Steve Clark in May 2019, the Tartan Army now have their sights firmly set on reaching their first World Cup finals in 24 years.
