Leicester must break club record to sign Tielemans permanently

Leicester City will have to break their club record when it comes to paying transfer fees if they intend to sign Youri Tielemans on a permanent deal, according to .

The 2015/16 Premier League champions have been impressed by the Belgian international in his four league appearances so far after they temporarily obtained his services from AS Monaco in a straigh swap for midfielder Adrien Silva, and they are seriously entertaining the thought to make Tielemans a Leicester player permanently.

However, Monaco aren t prepared to make it easy for them. Their demand stands at £40 million, well above the £28 million club record the Foxes set when they signed striker Islam Slimani on deadline day in the summer of 2016.

Leicester recently appointed Brendan Rodgers as t…

Could Malaga shatter Real Madrid’s title hopes at the death?

Zinedine Zidane s men need to avoid defeat in their final La Liga game to clinch the title.

Real Madrid travel to La Rosaleda to face Malaga in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday evening, knowing avoiding defeat will see them clinch the title.

However, they’d be sensible not to celebrate early given Malaga are in fine form this season and have produced impressive scalps on home soil that could mean a scare is in store for Los Blancos.

Malaga formidable at home in recent weeks

Míchel’s Malaga side are currently 11th in the Spanish La Liga table with 46 points from 37 games this season, coming off the back of four wins from their last five outings. The Albicelestes have been in fine form at La Rosaleda, boasting four consecutive home wins ahead of their fi…

Leicester City have completed the signing of Gokhan Inler from Napoli, .

The Switzerland international moves to the King Power Stadium on a three year deal after completing his medical on Wednesday, and will wear the number 33 shirt.

In four seasons with Napoli the midfielder racked up one hundred and sixty-six appearances in all competitions, scoring thirteen goals and was part of the squads that won the Coppa Italia in both 2012 and 2014.

Prior to his move to Naples, he spent four years with Udinese while he has also played for Zurich and Aarau in his home country.

The 31 year old has been capped eighty-three times for his country and has scored for them on six occasions while he was part of their squad for both the 2010 and 2014 World Cup finals …

Fabregas still out as Sarri admits Abraham could leave Chelsea

Maurizio Sarri thinks a possible exit for Tammy Abraham will be Chelsea s only transfer business on Friday.

Clubs from the Bundesliga, LaLiga and Ligue 1 can still sign players from England before their transfer windows close, despite the Premier League s deadline for signing players having passed on August 9.

Chelsea striker Abraham has been linked with a possible move to Bordeaux and Aston Villa and Sarri admits he could leave in order to secure regular first-team football.

We don t need anything at the moment, he told a news conference. Out? I don t know. Maybe Tammy. It s up to him.

I m not able to guarantee him a spot at the moment. If he wants to remain, I m very happy with him. He s very young for a striker, he can improve more. It s up to him. …

Brighton and Hove Albion 0 Manchester City 2: Ruthless Aguero makes the difference for Guardiola

The top-flight class of Manchester City and Sergio Aguero eventually told as Brighton and Hove Albion s Premier League bow ended in a 2-0 defeat.

Chris Hughton s men held firm in the face of near incessant attacking from the pre-season title favourites, but a late strike from Aguero and Lewis Dunk s own-goal sealed victory for City.

Pep Guardiola paired Gabriel Jesus and Aguero in attack, with new arrivals Kyle Walker and Danilo providing support from the flanks in a 3-5-2 system.

City dominated possession and territory, but the extra defender perhaps took something out of their attack and Mat Ryan s stunning save from the Brazilian was City s sole clear-cut opportunity of a goalless first half.

Jesus also saw two goals disallowed as wave after wave of Ci…

Drogba coy over future after title triumph

Didier Drogba offered no assurances over his future after Chelsea clinched the Premier League title with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

A 45th-minute goal from Eden Hazard on Sunday was enough to seal a victory that saw Chelsea claim the Premier League for a fourth time.

Drogba, who rejoined the club for a second stint in July 2014, has been involved in each of those successes.

Yet the 37-year-old has had to be content with a limited role this term, in stark contrast to Chelsea s previous title-winning campaign, in 2009-10, when the Ivorian scored 37 goals in all competitions.

Drogba told Sky Sports: This one is sweet. I am happy to be part of this, but Chelsea will always be bigger than me.

What now? A good rest, a good celebration and I…

Gasperini frustrated by Atalanta´s ´wasted opportunity´

Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini was left to rue a wasted opportunity after Fiorentina twice came from behind to seal a 3-3 draw in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final on Wednesday.

Alejandro Gomez and Mario Pasalic gave Atalanta a two-goal lead after just 18 minutes at the Artemio Franchi, but they were pegged back by a quick-fire double from Federico Chiesa and Marco Benassi.

Marten de Roon appeared to have given Gasperini s side a crucial advantage ahead of the second leg at the end of April with a stunning strike shortly before the hour mark.

Luis Muriel had other ideas, though, slotting home from close range with 11 minutes remaining to set up what promises to be a mouth-watering return fixture.

I am quite annoyed because we contr…

Barca cannot sign Liverpool players

In the last four years, Barcelona signed two Liverpool stars for big money. Following the Reds ultimately doomed push for the 2013/14 Premier League title, the Catalans swooped in and signed Luis Suarez for a reported £75million, and after a long and wearying saga, they also snatched Philippe Coutinho in January this year for £142million.

However, according to Sky Sports, Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards insisted that a special clause be inserted into the Coutinho deal, preventing Barcelona from signing any more Liverpool players before 2020, unless they want to pay a premium of £90million on top of any agreed deal.

Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah both signed new contract with the Merseyside club this season, but Sadio Mane still hasn t. Quite expected…

Johstone linked with permanent Aston Villa switch

Aston Villa will attempt to sign goalkeeper Sam Johnstone on a permanent basis when the transfer window reopens in January, according to the Metro.

The twenty-four year old has been on loan at Villa Park since January and is a good run of form having kept clean sheets in five of his last six appearances helping his side move to within a point of the Championship play-off places.

Johnstone officially remains a Manchester United player having turned professional in 2011 but is yet to make a senior appearance for his parent club.

He was sent out on loan to Oldham Athletic but never featured before joining up with Scunthorpe Town while he has also spent time with Walsall, Yeovil Town, Doncaster Rovers and Preston North End, helping the latter achieve promotion fr…

Prediction: Fulham vs Manchester City

Best odds: 11/4

Bookmaker:

Relegation battlers Fulham welcome Premier League title holders Manchester City on Saturday, and that really says a lot about the level difference between the two teams.

Fulham

It s been nothing short of a disastrous season for Fulham, which is something hardly anyone could have foreseen last summer, at least when it comes to the extent of it.

The Cottagers won promotion by beating Aston Villa in the final of the Championship play-offs. They strengthened their team significantly after that. The likes of 2014 World Cup winner Andre Schurrle and the much coveted Jean Micheal Seri arrived to the bank of The Thames. Ryan Sessegnon stayed there despite much interest from above. Aleksandar Mitrović, previously there on loan, made t…
