Milan still in the hunt for Ivanovic

(GSM) The Daily Mail suggests Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic is a £15m target for AC Milan. The paper reckons the Blues Serb defender, who has established himself as a key figure at Stamford Bridge, may be offloaded if Chelsea manage to sign Inter Milan s Maicon.

Maicon is among the best right-backs in the world and a secondary role at the Bridge may tempt Ivanovic to move to San Siro to play first-team football.

Milan have been interested in Ivanovic for a long while, having tried to sign the player from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2008. Milan also offered £10m for the 26-year-old last year as the Serb warmed the benches during Avram Grant s short reign as Chelsea manager.

However, the player turned into a key member of the Chelsea squad this season and a host of clubs, including Aston Villa and Manchester City, have sounded out their interest.

Ancelotti is reportedly keen to extend the player s contract as he tries to keep hold of his prized assets.
